Lisa, Bec, and all the incredible instructors are all incredibly talented but so generous with their teaching and provide such a welcoming environment for people. Every time I have walked out of that studio, I’m always in an incredible mood from the infectious good vibes and great workout. There’s also a great variety of classes to choose from, and the classes provide great builds and points of difference every week to keep you improving and growing. The vibe class is the best hour you’ll spend on a Saturday. I look forward to getting back in for some classes when I can. My Mama Said is my favourite fitness community, not only in Melbourne but in the entire world! Not only are a variety of classes offered that are modified to meet all skill levels, but the instructors are incredibly skilled and knowledgeable and assist you with necessary modifications to prevent injury and help you get the most out of your classes (aka a good workout). I have been able to apply Bec’s descriptive technique support from Core Fit, Circuit, and Barre classes to classes at other studios where instructors don’t provide as much support around form; her classes are reliably always a great workout. Lisa’s Friday Barre is the absolute best; her energy, enthusiasm, and warmth make working out SO much fun. My Mama Said is more than a workout studio; it is a community and family that feels like home. I have been to many pilates, barre, and yoga studios in Sydney and California and have yet to find anything that compares to My Mama Said.

I love how I can mix and match sessions based on my flow and needs of that week. “What I love most about the studio is the variety. I could an intense Barre class if I wanted a tough workout, or a chilled yoga class if I was feeling a bit low on energy. The vibe of the place is great overall- amazing interiors, range of equipment to spice things up and super friendly staff who make a real effort to get to know you. Always a huge range of ability levels in the classes, which is always a comfort for me. Prices are reasonable for what you get and similar to most pilates/yoga studios. Highly recommend.”
